CoffeeWorks Bermuda's all new simplehuman pod brewer
simplehuman just made brewing a cup of coffee, well, simple, with the introduction of its new, innovative single serve pod brewer. The design team's goal in developing the simplehuman pod brewer was to take the technology of the single serve brewer and make the experience even more efficient, from an out-of-the box set-up time of under three minutes to a flavor extraction system that meets top connoisseur standards for brewing and flavor.
"Our company mission is to create tools for efficient living so the convenience of single serve coffee brewers appealed to us right away, but we wanted to improve the design and the flavor," says simplehuman CEO Frank Yang who also acts as the company's design director. "Coffee culture is such that when consumers go out for coffee they expect to get a superior cup of coffee, we want to provide that experience inside the home. That's what our goal is with the pod brewer – a connoisseur level experience with every cup."
A key feature of the simplehuman pod brewer is the flavor extraction system during which water is infused over the pod evenly at the ideal brewing temperature (200˙F). The brew chamber optimizes pressure between the coffee and the water to maintain a consistent flow. Customized channels in the pod holder prevent water from flowing through the pod too quickly and weakening the flavor.
In addition to improving the coffee extraction process, the brewer includes features that make it easier to use, easier to clean, and more durable: a space efficient stainless steel body; an easy to reach and refill water tank; a bright LCD display that shows brewer status, settings and time; and a smooth, easy to operate handle for loading pods. The simplehuman pod brewer comes with a sample pack of 18 pods from Molto Coffee. Since the brewer uses the pod format (widely accepted as the single serving coffee standard in Europe) consumers can also use any brand of standard size pods.
Coffee can be brewed for either an 8oz cup or a smaller, more robust 5oz cup. The brewer comes with two pod holders, one for thicker 9gm Molto pods, and another for thinner coffee or tea pods.
